Obituary

Oakdale- Edna Naomi Herrin Lewis, 97, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in her home.  Her funeral service will be held at First United Pentecostal Church on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 2 o'clock p.m.  Dr. Craig Moorman, Rev. Tim Kelley and Rev. Greg Willis will officiate.  Burial will follow in Cryer Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at First United Pentecostal Church of Oakdale on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Edna Naomi Lewis, affectionately known as "Peg", was born on February 21, 1924 in Bon Wier, Texas to the late Harley Melvin Herrin and Lucy Emma Bowen.  Peg loved to read her bible, praying for and with others, spending time with family and always wearing a smile on her face.  She was a loving and caring person, devoted mother and friend, always thinking of others first.  "To know her was to love her."

Those left to cherish Peg's loving memory include her daughter, Da Juana Doran and son-by-love, Robert Doran; one granddaughter, Raquel Ardoin and grandson-by-love, Todd Ardoin; two great-grandsons, Lindon and Lochlin Ardoin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Peg is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Lucy Herrin; two brothers, Archie and Morris Herrin; and her seven sisters, Vada Stark, Lois Hayes, Lela Perkins, Letha Perkins, Beulah Landrem, Lena Mae Perkins, and Dora Moorman.
