Kinder-A Mass of Christian Burial for Douglas "Doug" Jude Carrier, 42, will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 4-9 p.m. with a vigil at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m.

Doug was a loving son, brother, uncle, Godfather, and friend. Doug was born and raised in Kinder. He graduated from Kinder High School in 1993. He then went on to attend McNeese State University and transferred to Louisiana State University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. He currently worked for McGarrah Jessee in Austin, TX, where he fulfilled his dream as a graphic designer. His company said he was their "heartbeat". Doug enjoyed junking and flea markets, being outdoors and hiking, music, and reading. He loved spending time with his family and absolutely adored his mother, Windola. Everyone dearly loved him and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Windola and husband, Michael Cowart, Sr.; three brothers, Gary Carrier and wife, Christine, of Kinder, Anthony Carrier of New Orleans and Dale Carrier of Moss Bluff; two sisters, Lisa Grantham and husband, Mark, of Moss Bluff and Rachelle Brown and husband, Ritchie, of Branson, MO; 4 nephews, Mark Carrier, Garrick Carrier, Elias Carrier and Wayne Babin, Jr.; 5 nieces, Danielle Carrier, Anna Grantham, Agathe Carrier, Miranda Babin, and Melania Grantham; 3 great nieces, Kayleigh, Alaia, and Londyn; 2 stepbrothers; and 2 stepsisters.

Doug is preceded in death by his father, Leon Carrier.
