Obituary

Elton-Funeral service for Dosia "Peggy" Hood will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate and burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.
The family will receive visitors at St. Paul Catholic Church on Tuesday morning beginning at 9 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 1 p.m.
Dosia, affectionately known as "Peggy", was a lifelong resident of Elton. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church her entire life. She was an Elton High School graduate, as well. In 1956, Dosia was appointed to the position of Postmaster by President Eisenhower. Her nomination was brought to the Senate floor where it was voted upon and passed. Dosia served as the Postmaster for the United States Post Office in Elton for many years. She was a member of the National Postmasters Association, the Sugar Bowl Association, and was an avid LSU and Saints fan.
Survivors include one brother, John Allie Moreau of Gulfport, MS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dosia is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Allie Moreau, her brothers, Joseph Willie, Clarence and Claude Moreau, two infant brothers, and her sisters, Maude DeRosier and Mary Godeaux.
