Obituary
Oberlin-Funeral service for Dorothy "Irene" Sonnier, 84, will be held on
Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10am at Allen Parish Funeral Home/ Oberlin Chapel. Rev. Don Duplechain will officiate and burial will follow in Oaklin Springs Cemetery of Oberlin under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Allen Parish Oberlin Chapel beginning
Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 4-9pm. The visitation will continue on
Friday, November 2, 2012 from 8am until time of service.
Dorothy was a resident of Oberlin but originally from Waco, Tx.
She and her husband were married over 45 years. She worked very hard
to provide for her family. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and a devoted
wife.
Survivors include her four sons, Billy Sonnier and wife Maxie of Erwinville, La., Danny Sonnier and wife Judy of Jennings, Bobby Sonnier of Winnfield, and
Randy Sonnier and wife Colleen of Oberlin; and one sister, Minnie Ray Thompson of Desoto, TX; and 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Gracie and Fred Campbell;
her husband, Shelton Sonnier; and one son, Ronny Sonnier; one brother, Alfred
Campbell; and one sister, Mary Nell Bottoms.
