Oberlin-Funeral Service for Dorothy Mae Montou, 72, of Oberlin will be Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 1 pm at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Fr. Felix Anyikwa will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin at Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 10am until the time of service.
Mrs. Montou was a life-long resident of Oberlin. She and her husband owned/operated Montou's Grocery for 42 years. She loved life and will be sadly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Clifford "Nooky" Montou of Oberlin,; one daughter, Bettina Duplechain and husband, Dennis of Oberlin; two sons, Bradley Montou and Brent Montou and wife, Becky all of Oberlin; one brother, Herbert Manuel of Oberlin; two sisters, Joyce Burnett of Ville Platte and JoAnn Byers of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Ariel and Ethel Manuel; one son, Bryant Montou; and one brother, Burgess Manuel.
