Kinder-Funeral service for Dorothy Mae Marcantel, age 71, will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 10am in Indian Village Baptist Church. Rev. Vernon Martindale and Rev. E.J. McCann will officiate. Burial will follow in Indian Village Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held from 5-9pm on Thursday, June 2, 2011 in Indian Village Baptist Church and will continue in Indian Village Baptist Church on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 8am until time of service.
Dorothy was a self-taught lady. She loved board games, yard work, gardening, and cooking. She was a devoted wife and loving mom and grandmother. She had a special bond with her daughter "Cricket". Taking care of family was her #1 priority.
Survivors include her sons, Glenn Ira Marcantel and Terry Marcantel and wife, Tanya, all of Indian Village; her daughter, Edith "Cricket" Marcantel of Indian Village; five grandchildren; and, fourteen great grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceeded in death by her parents, Lillian and Dorsalie Miller, and her son, William James Marcantel.
