Obituary

Mittie-Homegoing services for Dorothy Mae Boudreaux John, 69, will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 10 o'clock a.m. at Palestine Baptist Church, Rev. Hardy Estes will officiate. Dorothy will be peacefully laid to rest at Palestine Cemetery immediately following her services. Dorothy's family will receive visitors at Palestine Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, from 3-9 o'clock p.m. Dorothy's visitation will resume on Wednesday morning, August 9, 2023, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All of Dorothy's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
Dorothy was a loving and affectionate mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was an avid animal lover and especially adored her two cats Simba and Angel. She was a woman of strong faith and dearly loved to read her bible. Dorothy also had a profound love for angels and crosses. She loved to watch wrestling and listening to her favorite musician and vocalist Cat Stevens. Most of all, Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family who she dearly loved and adored. Dorothy cherished every moment that she spent with her family especially her grandchildren. She loved to laugh and loved to make lasting memories with her family. She will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Dorothy's memory include one son, Donovan John of Farmerville, LA; four daughters, Jessica John of Lake Charles, Stephanie John of Elton, Chrystal LeJeune and husband Derrick of Mittie, and Tiffani John of Moss Bluff; two sisters, Linda Annette David  and husband Robert of Broussard, LA, and Lydia Faye Broussard of Mittie, eleven grandchildren, Trenton, Kaylee, Brynlee, Amber, Kyson, Austin, Leighton, Ashton, Gracie, Derrick Jr., and Darius; and two great-grandchildren Starlynn and Kendall.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Austin and Lydia Adeline Boudreaux.
