Kinder- Funeral Mass for Mrs. Dora Ortego Ferguson, 84, will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Phillip Neri Catholic Church. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinder McRill Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home Thursday from 4pm-8pm with a vigil service at 6pm followed by a rosary. Visitation will continue Friday at 8am until time of service.
Mrs. Ferguson was a resident of Kinder. She was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, member of the Ladies Altar Society, & the Catholic Daughters. She gave generously to her church that she loved dearly. She enjoyed gardening, Cajun dancing, music & walking in her high heels. She was a caregiver to the elderly especially to her sister Lula Bell. Mrs. Ferguson was a respected & loved person in her community & a friend to all that knew her. She passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
She is survived by two brothers, Ocie Ortego & Percy Ortego; four sisters, Elsie Buller, Pearl Moreau, Bula Cronan, & Nora Guin; three nieces, Patricia LeBouf & husband Melvin, Phyllis Carbalan & husband Irvin, Cara Lee Ortego, & Wilda Fontenot; five nephews, Paul Cronan, Chris Cronan, Charles Cronan, Benjamin Cronan, & Scott Bell.
Mrs. Ferguson raised Patricia since the age 10, and Patricia cared for Mrs. Ferguson until she passed away.
Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Ferguson & sister, Lula Bell.
