Oberlin-Celebration of life services honoring Donna "Pete" Marie Kennedy, will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 1 o'clock p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin. Rev. Bro. Don Duplechian will officiate.  Donna will be laid to rest at China Cemetery in Elton immediately following her services.

Donna's family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin, on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 10 o'clock a.m. until 10 o'clock p.m. Visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin on Saturday morning, September 23, 2023, from 8 o'clock a.m. until time of service. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Donna affectionately known as "Pete" was a loving and devoted daughter, mother and grandmother. She adored her family and cherished every memory that she made with them. Donna especially loved her three grandchildren; she loved to spoil them and would do anything to see them happy. Donna was a hard worker and worked diligently to provide for her children and would do anything to make sure they were well taken care of.  She had a wonderful sense of humor and absolutely loved to laugh and have a good time. She loved to play chess with her son as well as being outdoors. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her mother. Donna will be unconditionally loved and forever missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Donna's memory include her two sons, David E. Ortego and Jordan K. Lavergne both of Oberlin; one daughter, Amanda Trahan and husband Ryan of Welsh; three grandchildren, Logan, Melanie, and Corey Trahan all of Oberlin; and her mother, Callie C. Kennedy of Oberlin.

Donna is preceded in death by her father, William T. Kennedy; and one sister, Mildred D. Kennedy Cooper.
