Elton-Celebration of Life services for Donna Marie David Bertrand, 63, will be held at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 10 o'clock a.m. Deacon Mike Guillory will officiate. Donna will be laid to rest at Liberty Cemetery in Elton immediately following her services.

Donna's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 3-9 o'clock p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 o'clock p.m. Donna's visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of services. All of Donna's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.

Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bobby for 29 years until his passing in August of 2018. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Elton where she attended church regularly.  Donna was a lifelong resident of Elton and a 1977 graduate of Elton High School. She then began her family and worked hard as a correctional officer for more than 21 years to take care of them. In her time as a correctional officer, she worked for LPCC Corrections in Lafayette, Allen Correctional Center in Kinder, and the South Louisiana Correctional Center in Basile. Donna loved and adored her family and cherished every moment she spent with them, especially her grandchildren and her "baby" Buttercup. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and encouraged all of them to work hard and do the right thing in life. She was a kind and caring person a was always willing to help others. Donna will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish Donna's memory include her two sons, Francis Comeaux Sr. and wife Heather of Pineville, LA, and Rodney Paul "R.P." Comeaux Jr. and wife Sarah of Goliad, TX; one daughter, Anastasia Hornsby and husband Daniel of Iowa, LA; six grandchildren, Francis Comeaux Jr., Joshua Hornsby, Hannah Comeaux, Hayden Hornsby, Danielle Hornsby, and Jessica Comeaux; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lou Anna David; her husband Bobby Bertrand; two brothers, Francis, and Anthony David; and one sister, Cheryl David.
