Donald Ray LaFleur was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was born September 6, 1953, in Kinder, La. to the union of William and Eula Mae LaFleur. A proud veteran of the United States Army as a Marksman and was awarded a National Service Defense Medal and a Good Conduct Medal, before receiving an honorable discharge in 1979. He was married to his loving wife Elisa of 53 years. They loved to dance in the living room and take walks. They loved being in the mountains of Oklahoma. He worked for 25 years at the Jefferson Davis Parish School Board office doing carpentry. Donald’s favorite pastimes were woodworking, fishing, gardening, making sausage, and painting. But most of all he cherished time with family, especially his grandchildren. Whether it was shooting BB guns, picking cans, or just playing with them outside. He created memories that will be treasured forever. Known for his sense of humor, Donald never met a stranger, and he enjoyed making others laugh.
