Oakdale-Funeral Services for Donald Gene Jones, 79, will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Bro. Phil Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Cryer Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors from 10 a.m. until time of service on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Gracie, for fifty-nine years. Donald was a loving father to his three daughters and son, as well as, the best grandfather to his grandchildren. He loved to fish and hunt when he was able. Donald worked for United Gas as a welder and crew foreman before his well-deserved retirement. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Donald's memory include his wife, Gracie Jones; son, Mitchell Jones; three daughters, Donna Fitch (Rannie), Menette Strickland (Larry), and Sharon Jones Arceneaux (Gregory); one brother, Phil Jones (Lanell); five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Creed and Dorothy Jones.
