Reeves-A private Graveside Service honoring Donald Wayne Chance Sr., 85, will be held at Leblanc Cemetery in Leblanc, La.

    Donald Wayne Chance Sr. was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all. He was born on Wednesday, August 28, 1940, to the union of L.R. and Elsie Chance. Donald relocated to Lake Charles in 1958 from Florien, La. before residing in Moss Bluff, La., where he lived for 45 years. He worked for Davidson Sash and Door until becoming a private contractor of custom-built homes and blueprints for five decades. Donald enjoyed traveling and going on vacations. He will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

    Those left to cherish Donald’s memory include his two sons, James Chance and Dustin Riley Chance; daughter, Robin Hamilton, and husband Gabe; one sister, Mavis Funderburk and husband Donald; six grandchildren, Walker Chance Hamilton, Mattie Hamilton, Michael Fontenot, Rachael Carr, Stacy Royal, and Todd Naquin; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

    Donald is preceded in death by his parents, L.R. and Elsie Chance; son, Donald Wayne Chance Jr., two sisters, Betty Green, and Shirley Dodson; and brother-in-law, Jerry Green.
