Elton-Funeral Services for Donald J. Bazinet, 82, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton. Rev. Jose Vattakunnel and Deacon Mike Guillory will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/ Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 4-9 p.m. with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Donald was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Ruby, for sixty-three years until her passing in October 2014. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church, as well as, a lifelong resident of Elton. Donald loved French music, listening to KBON 101.1 radio station, dancing, barbecuing, Mardi Gras and drinking his beer. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed visiting at Elton Auto Shop from 11:30 to 2 p.m. everyday. Donald worked hard to provide for his family. He loved visiting and giving people a hard time. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Donald's memory include his two sons, Michael Bazinet and wife, Lelia "Lil", of Elton and Richard Bazinet and wife, Gail, of Oberlin; three daughters, Cheryl Bazinet of Eunice, Marlene Stephens and husband, Donavan, of Elton and Donna Kay Bazinet of Elton; two sisters, Jane Roy of Elton and Carolyn Bertrand of Eunice; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Carrie Bazinet; wife, Ruby Bazinet; and one brother, Bradley Joseph Bazinet.
