Oakdale-Memorial services honoring the life of Don Loyden Fontenot, 64, will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 1 o'clock p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. H.P. Hebert will officiate.

Don's family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home in Oakdale on Monday, October 2, 2023, from 10 o'clock a.m. until time of service. Inurnment will follow at Hampton Cemetery in Elizabeth immediately following Don's services. All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

Don was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He worked very hard as a truck driver for many years to provide for his family. Don also worked for GEO Correctional Center where he would transport inmates to and from Dr. appointments. He absolutely loved the outdoors.  Fishing, hunting, and camping where his favorite past time. Don loved to visit with his brothers and reminisce about growing up. Don loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren and cherished every moment he spent with them. He enjoyed watching football especially the LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints. Don had a great sense of humor and loved to see people laugh. He will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Don's memory include his wife, Marlene Fontenot of Oakdale; two sons, Michael Fontenot and wife Jamie, and Cory Fontenot and wife Nicole; one daughter, Kristina Fontenot; three brothers, David Fontenot and wife Tammy of Baton Rouge, Carl Fontenot and wife Claudia of Ville Platte, and Jimmy Bellard; nine grandchildren, Alyssa(Max), Braden, Ethan, Braylee, Phoenix, Tyson, Emma, Gabriel, and Justice; and three great-grandchildren, Ella Rae and LynLeigh,and Scarlet.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Rose Elise Buller Fontenot and one brother Roy Fontenot.
