Oberlin-Funeral services for Dionne F. Gardner, 53, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin. Pastor Rodney Botley will officiate. Burial will follow at Botley Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Dionne was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and a friend to many. During her school days, she was a part of the band and track team. She enjoyed decorating for events and had such creative talent. Dionne was outgoing, compassionate and the most caring person you could ever meet. She loved doing makeup and representing Avon. Her niece, Azizah S. Jahkur Muhammad, was very special to her. Dionne was an employee at AIG Insurance Company, as well as a volunteer for The Rare Elegant Foundation. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Dionne's memory include her mother, Emma Gardner of Oberlin; sister, Najah Jahkur; nieces, Azizah S. Jahkur Muhammad and Janae Atkins; great-niece, Naliyah Gardner; nephews, Jeremiah and Nehemiah Gardner; special friend, Dejonna Travis; as well as a host of relatives.

Dionne is preceded in death by her father, Winfred "Hooks" Gardner.
