Oakdale-Funeral Services for Diedra Meeks Hyatt, 54, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Sugartown Baptist Church. Rev. Ott will officiate. Burial will follow in Sugartown Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

The family will receive visitors at Sugartown Baptist Church from 1-10 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Visitation will resume at the church Friday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service.

Diedra was a devoted wife for 39 years to her husband Tim. She was loving, compassionate, generous, selfless, thoughtful, and comical. Diedra loved to cook and no one ever left hungry. She had a green thumb and enjoyed being outdoors gardening flowers and vegetables. Diedra had an amazing strength and fought a long hard battle with breast cancer and never lost her smile. She will be missed by her family and friends for her bravery, her strength, and her smile. Special thanks to her sisters, Debbie Johnson and Jenni Sanders as well as her stepmother, Zenda Meeks for all of the love, time, and energy put in to taking such great care of our mom. Those left to cherish Diedra's memory include her husband, Timothy "Tim" Hyatt of Sugartown; stepmother, Zenda Hawks Meeks of Sugartown; two sons, Timothy "T.J." Hyatt II (LeeAnn) of Oakdale, Patrick Hyatt (Jessica) of Sugartown; one daughter, Ashley Hyatt of Dry Creek; one brother, James "J.R." Meeks (Stefanie) of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Debbie Johnson (Roger) of DeRidder, Jenni Sanders (Keith) of Sugartown, Traci Mayes of Houston, TX; and eight grandchildren.

Diedra is preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Meeks and Patricia Stephenson Meeks.
