Oakdale-Funeral service for Diana Lynn Marie Fontenot Tichy, 70, will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Greg Willis and Rev. Jackie B ond will officiate. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Oakdale on Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m.  Visitation will resume on Sunday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 11 a.m.

Diana was joined in holy union to Edward Matthew Tichy I on January 31, 1969.  She was a devout Catholic who took her faith and love of God very seriously.  She prayed the rosary every day, and she held God, love and family in the highest of regards.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother who raised five sons and dealt with all the craziness that goes along with five boys.  She was quick to tell you that she wouldn't change one little thing about it. She loved with a genuine heart, and was very proud of her family, and her "extended" family that included many, many friends.  She was never too busy to listen, offer advice, or even a shoulder to cry on.  Her door was always open no matter the time or reason. Diana loved arts and crafts, especially knitting and crocheting.  She could not wait to start making baby blankets and booties when she heard that someone was expecting.  She also enjoyed sharing her love of arts and crafts with her grandchildren. Diana will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Diana's memory include her four sons, Gregory Tichy, Kevin Tichy and wife, Sherry, Andrew Tichy and wife, Tara, and Edward Tichy II and wife, Tina; three brothers, James Fontenot and wife, J oan , Paul Fontenot and wife, Patsy, and Darrell Fontenot and wife, Lainey; one sister, Joanne Welch; 15 grandchildren- K ayla, Zachary, Paige, Christopher Jr., Nicole, Bryce, Christian, Brennen, Tyler, Kassie, Kyrstin, Isabella, Heaven, Jasmine, and Kennedy; and 3 great grandchildren. Diana is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Effie Fontenot; her husband, Edward Matthew Tichy I; and one son, Christopher Brent Tichy, Sr.
