Diana LeDay Gauthier was born in Kinder on August 9,1958 to Peter "L.J." and Isabella Jack LeDay. She grew up the oldest of three siblings. Diana went on to marry the love of her life, Hillman Gauthier on November 9, 1974. Diana has been a devoted wife to Hillman for 49 years. After receiving her high school diploma in 1976, Diana would continue to be a wife and mother to her five children. During that time Diana also began working as a paraprofessional with Jefferson Davis Parish School Board. Diana was known for her love and compassion and would take on the task of fostering over a dozen children through the years. She would take them in and provide a safe and happy home for them until they were adopted into their "forever homes". At age 50, Diana decided to further her education by attending Sowela Technical Community College and then, McNeese State University proving that age is just a number when it comes to pursuing your dreams. Diana was an ordained handmaiden. For years she faithfully served in various ministerial capacities, most notably the church's yearly calendar which featured daily "nuggets" from the weeks' messages. Her passion for singing and gospel music led her to join the Refuge Temple Deliverance Choir where she would joyfully sing her praises on Sunday mornings. Diana was incredibly proud of her role as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She nurtured anyone in her presence and held in high regard all whom she knew. Diana will be forever missed and unconditionally loved always.
