Kinder-Diana Gayle Dyer, 62, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2017 in her home in Lake Charles, Louisiana, surrounded by loved ones. Diana was born on March 21, 1955, in Altrus, California, to George W. Wichtendahl and Doris Holt.
Family visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ardoin Funeral Home in Kinder, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Kinder at Ardoin Funeral Home with graveside services immediately following at Highland Memorial Park in Lake Charles, Louisiana under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes of Kinder
In 1973, Diana married the love of her life, Freddie Dyer. They began their life together in Midwest City, Oklahoma and a few years later, settled in Howe, Oklahoma to raise their four sons. After their sons were grown, Freddie and Diana raised a foster daughter, Heather Fry. In 2008, Freddie and Diana moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Family and friends were Diana's passion and delight. Diana had a heart of gold and she enjoyed having all of her children and grandchildren together and making lasting memories with them. Diana loved to join in on the fun once a year at the Galbreath Girls Gathering and looked forward to family reunions, so she could laugh and share stories with all of her loved ones. Most of all, Diana loved her Lord and Savior.
Diana is survived by her husband, Freddie Dyer, of the home; Four sons, Roy Dyer and wife, Angel, of Iowa, Louisiana, Brandon Dyer and wife, Chandra, of Junction City, Kansas, Chad Dyer and wife, Kelly, of LeBleu Settlement, Louisiana, Ryan Dyer and wife, Sarah, of Panama, Oklahoma; one daughter, Heather Fry of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sixteen grandchildren, Hannia, Lenzie, Sarah, Brook, Kristina, Schandon, Megan, Ashley, Jalyn, Lane, Ryanna, Jaydon, Gracie, Braxton,Brooklyn and Kade; Four great-grandchildren; Colton, Chase, Callie, and Raelynn; two brothers, Glen Lawrence of Bend, Oregon, James David Roush of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a special nephew, Jeramie Wichtendahl and numerous other relatives and close friends.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, George W. Wichtendahl, of Medford, Oregon; her mother, Doris L. Holt, of Talihina, Oklahoma; a brother, Michael Wayne Wichtendahl, of Mustang, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Mason Dewain Dyer and Fred Evan Garrett Dyer.
Pallbearers to serve will be Samuel Pappillion, Dustin Lawless, Robbie Dyer, Casey Long, Aaron Drewry, and Nathan Haynes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeramie Wichtendahl, Schandon Dyer and Lane Dyer.
