On the beautiful afternoon of October 7, 2021, a sweet and gentle mother, Delores LeBouef Vizena, peacefully entered eternal rest while surrounded by her children. A Mass of Christian Burial for Delores, age 82, will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1 o'clock p.m. at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes. The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Sunday, October 10, 2021 from 5-9 p.m. A Prayer Vigil honoring Delores will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the Holy Rosary. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service. Delores was a strong Christian woman who was devoted to her family, her church, and her community. She cooked many meals for the children of Kinder Elementary School before retiring home to focus on enjoying life with her husband of 63 years. Delores spent lots of time fishing and camping with her loving husband, LD Vizena, until the time of his death last year. Left to cherish memories of their mother are Jennifer Tafoya (Tim) of Lexington, Kentucky, Becky Walker (Gerald Paul), Vicky Connor (Kevin), Katy Barron (David), all of Kinder, and Luke Vizena (Peri) of Natchitoches, LA. Delores was MawMaw to 10 grandchildren: Jessica Courtney, Amanda Gaddis, Trent Rester, Jeremy Walker, Jeff Walker, Jill Crawford, Marcus Connor, Allie Barron, Anna Briscoe, and Avery Barron. GG also had a special place in her heart for her 20 great grandchildren and her 5 great-great grandchildren. Others left to cherish her memories are sisters, Jane Chapman of Iota, Maudry Sonnier of Jennings, and Barbara Prather of Church Point; as well as treasured sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Delores is preceded in death by her husband LD; her parents, Renis LeBouef and Nora LeBouef Schambough; her stepfather, Gurvis Schambough; brother, Belvin LeBouef; and sister, Irene Manuel.
