Aug 31, 1956 — Jul 17, 2026
Oakdale
Oakdale- David Anthony Perales, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2026. David’s family will host private memorial and inurnment services in his memory at a future date. All of David’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived. We celebrate David's 45 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Louana Ware Perales. Together, they built a life filled with love commitment, and cherished memories.
David loved being with his family, and he had a deep passion for nature and the outdoors. He and his wife loved to fish together, and David even won several amateur tournaments. He left behind a legendary legacy of big fish caught on his favorite lake, Toledo Bend.
He was a proud and loving father to his son, Christopher Ware, whose life was a source of great pride and happiness.
From a young age, David understood the value of hard work. He delivered newspapers on his paper route and later worked as a line and buffet cook. He took on many other jobs, including harvesting cranberries during the fall season, before attending school in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where he trained as a sewing machine mechanic. He later worked at the Oakdale Dress Company in Louisiana and served as an instructor at the Oakdale Federal Prison, where he retired after many years of faithful service.
David embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. At an early age, he learned to play the drums and enjoyed performing in a band. He loved fishing, working on his vehicles, and fixing things with his own hands.
He is survived by his wife, Louana Perales; his son, Christopher Ware; and his brothers, Francisco Carl Perales and wife Billie of Bossier, LA., Ronald Gilbert Perales and wife Debbie of Vista, CA., John Nick Perales and wife Paula of Lakeview, Mass., and Roger Paul Perales of Plymouth, Mass. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and great-nephews in whom he was very proud to be called "Uncle David," along with many relatives and friends who will hold his memory dear.
David was preceded in death by his father, John Hebert Perales, and his mother, Patricia Francis Perales.
Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with David’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
