Obituary

David Glen Monroe

July 18, 1963 - October 15, 2026

Celebration of Life services honoring David Monroe, 63, will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 1 o’clock p.m. at Glenmora Baptist Church. Bro. Neil Treme will officiate. David will be laid to rest at Glenmora Cemetery immediately following his services.

David’s family will receive friends and visitors at Glenmora Baptist Church on Tuesday morning, October 20, 2026, from 9 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of David’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.

David Glen Monroe was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was born on Thursday, July 18, 1963, to the union of William and Betty Jo Monroe and passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was a man of many skills and talents; he was the man to go to if you needed something done right. He loved woodworking and worked on many projects in his spare time after spending his days as a “stumpologist”. But most of all he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren, he enjoyed being a pawpaw. He will be greatly missed and forever loved by those who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Robin P Monroe; one son David Glen Monroe II (Summer Rene Monroe); one daughter, Taylor Monroe Armstrong (Blaine Prescott Armstrong); one brother, Joe Monroe (Annette Monroe); one sister, Beverly Monroe; nine grandchildren; and a loving extended family brought together through love and marriage, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, William “Billy Joe” Monroe and Betty Jo Monroe.

Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with David’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
