Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring David “Dave” Dewite Marcantel, 60, will be held at 11 o’clock am on Wednesday morning, April 22, 2026, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Gus Rodrigeuz will officiate. Dave will be laid to rest at Green Oak Cemetery in Kinder immediately following his services.
Dave’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Tuesday evening, April 21, 2026, from 4-9 o’clock pm. Dave’s visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Wednesday morning, April,22, 2026 from 8 o’clock am until time of service. All of Dave’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.
David Dewite Marcantel affectionately called “Dave” by family and friends was born Saturday, January 6, 1968, to the union of James Murphy and Eva Mae Holden Marcantel. He graduated from Kinder High School before graduating from Sowela Tech. Dave was a devoted husband (for more than 30 years), loving father, brother, uncle, and was a lifelong resident of Kinder, LA. He provided for his family by running heavy equipment for the Louisiana Department of Transportation. Dave was very mechanically inclined he could work on anything, automobiles, plumbing, electricity, computers, you name it. He would always be there lending a hand, helping others in need. Dave was active in the church, besides being an Usher, he played multiple instruments and helped with sound tech. He believed a life of service was a life worth living. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, those who knew him, loved him. Dave will be missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish Dave’s memory include his wife, Tammy Lynn Marcantel of Kinder; one daughter, Olivia Anne and Devan Michael Gray of Kinder; two sisters, Regina and Tony Hebert of Oberlin, Debbie and Jeffery Johnson of Iowa; one sister in law, Janice Marcantel of Oakdale; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, James Murphy Marcantel and Eva Mae Holden Marcantel; and one brother, Dwayne Marcantel.
