October 16, 1955 – June 29, 2020
Oakdale-Homegoing Services for Darrel Raymond "Ray" Causey, 64, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2020 at Glenmora United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Sam Russell and Rev. Brandon Goynes will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Glenmora under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
The family will receive visitors at Glenmora United Pentecostal Church on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 1-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Darrel, affectionately known as Ray, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was a loving husband to his wife, Shirley, for thirty years. Following graduation from Pine Prairie High School he attended Louisiana State University at Alexandria. Thereafter, he became a self-employed roofer and construction worker. He was also a statewide certified notary. In 2016 he was elected for Justice of the Peace for the Ward 4 district. Ray was a talented musician and singer. His greatest pass time was picking his banjo and singing bluegrass with his family. He was an avid duck and squirrel hunter with his dogs. Ray's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren on the homestead. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Ray's memory include his mother, Genevie King Causey; wife, Shirley Tucker Causey; one son, Darrel Lane Causey and wife, Courtney; three daughters, Ericka Causey Wainwright, Emily Causey and Lorie Causey Cole and husband, Jacob; one step-daughter, Jessica Guillory; one step-son, Joshua Dickens; five brothers, Michael Causey and wife, Brookie, Timothy Causey and wife, Melissa, Jonathan Causey, Daniel Causey and Stanford Causey; four sisters, Marilyn Causey, Ann Causey Hebert, Kay Rhame and husband, Rusty, and Connie Ducote and husband, Benny; four grandchildren, Londyn, Landry and Lydia Wainwright and Lincoln Causey; four step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Ray is preceded in death by his father, James A. Causey; and one brother, Rodney Lane Causey.
