Funeral service  for Darlene Richmond, 65, will be held at Occupy 1 Church in Pitkin at 2 o'clock p.m.  on Monday, July 3, 2023. Rev. Brad Perkins and Rev. Greg Willis will officiate. Burial will follow in Occupy 1 Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Occupy 1 Church in Pitkin from 1 o'clock p.m. until 10 p.m.  Visitation will resume at the church on Monday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Darlene was a loving wife, sister and aunt to her family. She and Donald were married 42 1/2 years before her passing.  They made many memories together, fishing and spending time with each other. She enjoyed her gospel music every day and watching TV, especially Western movies and "Gunsmoke." She dearly loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, and was like a mother to them.  Darlene will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Darlene's memory include her loving husband,  Donald Richmond of Glenmora; one brother, Gilbert Thompson of Oakdale; four sisters, Ezell Brown of Bellevue, Nebraska, Belva Sue Richie of Pitkin, Janey Ballard and Rhonda O'Banion, both of Glenmora; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, James and Luerue Doyle Thompson; three brothers; and three sisters.
