Oakdale-Funeral services for Darla Lindsey, 51, will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Rod Nesmith will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from 5-9 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Darla was a very loving daughter and sister, as well as a devoted mother and nana. She loved her four grandchildren with all the love she could give. She was a hard worker for Homeland Security for twenty-five years. Darla loved Jesus with all her heart. She enjoyed eating Sugartown watermelons, Blue Bell ice-cream, chocolate, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and at Hooters. Darla loved to buy her co-workers a corn-dog when they had dollar days at Sonic. She was a devoted Alabama fan, loved softball, baseball, traveling and going to her happy place-the beach. Darla was someone who wanted others to have before her. She always had faith like a grain of mustard seed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Darla's memory include her mother, Alene Jones Hester; three daughters, Kacey Tyler and husband, Zac, Karlee Lindsey and Karcyn Brooks; two sisters, Beverly Warren and husband, James, and Lisa Hester; and four grandchildren, Molly Kate and Lane Tyler, Rylee and Waylon Christian.

Darla is preceded in death by her father, W.J. Hester.
