Mittie-Homegoing services honoring Danny Russell Smith, 71, will be held at 11 o'clock a.m. on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024, at The Pentecostal's of Mittie Church. Revs. Ricky Kennon and J.R. Dowden will officiate. Danny will be laid to rest at Simmons Town Cemetery in Mittie immediately following his services.

Danny's family will receive friends and visitors at The Pentecostal's of Mittie Church on Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of services. All of Danny's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oberlin.

Danny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a faithful husband to his wife Debra Smith for 20 plus years. Danny attended church at The Pentecostal's of Mittie Church where he loved to worship the lord. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, take long walks in the woods, and growing a vegetable garden. Danny loved to cook and share meals with his family. He enjoyed spending time alone, but also cherished the memories he made with his family and grandchildren. Danny was a kind and caring person who was very selfless and giving and will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Danny's memory include his wife, Debra Kay Smith; two daughters, Elishia Darbonne and husband Joshua, and Brandie Smith, one son, Adam Smith; three sisters, Racheal Hardy and husband Rick, Jeroma Gonzales and husband Jesse, and Stacey Kramer and husband James, one brother, J.C. Smith and wife Ruby; four grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Darbonne, and Madeline and Olly Smith, one great grandson, Boudin Cletus James; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Russell, and Maude Smith.
