Danielle went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and doting grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren greatly and spoiled them as often as she could. Aside from God, her entire family was her priority. She loved family gatherings and every time she was among family, she would greet them with a warm smile and loving embrace. She had the ability to make anyone feel welcomed as soon as they entered her presence. Danielle was also a devout Christian who loved Christ and God's word. Reverend Danielle Poncho would share the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who was willing to listen. She was hugely involved in ministry and had a great passion for spreading the message of Christ and God's love to all people. She was involved in local prayer groups and was an Intercessory Prayer Partner for Word of Life Christian Center in Darrow, Louisiana where she and her husband were members. Her fearlessness concerning her faith was exemplified in her willingness to pray for anyone, anywhere, anytime she felt led to do so. It is because of her faith in God's Word that she did not fear death and would always tell family and friends "when it's my time, don't be sad, I know where I'm going; Celebrate, I made it home ." We celebrate her home going, yet we mourn the loss of an amazing daughter, wife mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and friend.
Those left to cherish Danielle's memory include her father, General Grant of Cherokee, NC; her husband, Janson Poncho of Elton; two brothers, Earnest Grant and Antonio Grant, both of Cherokee, NC; two sisters, Terah Holder and Gwendolyn Theyn, both of Evansville, IN; one daughter, Davida Poncho of Elton; three sons, Joseph Poncho and wife, Ravon, David Poncho and Isaac Poncho, all of Elton; her grandchildren, Halley Poncho, Lee Poncho, Serenity, Brinley and Daniel Cody; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Danielle is preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Yarbor and her grandparents, Mildred and Roy Collins.
