Daniel Joe Kite affectionately called "Dan" or "Danny" by all who knew him, was born on October 25, 1952, in DeRidder, Louisiana to the union of Joe and Ela Kite.  He left this world for a better one on August 6, 2024, at the age of 71, when he succumbed to an infection caused by a mosquito carrying the West Nile Virus. Dan worked as an Engineer and in operations for Shell Pipeline Corp. for 30 years and then taught and tutored students at Kingwood Community College for 9 years.  Most importantly, Dan was a part of our Lord Jesus Christ's Church.  He sought to serve his Father well, as a member of the CrossWay Community Church in Kingwood, Texas, for the last 16 years of his life. Dan was a "Travelin Man".  He visited all the places musician and performer Ricky Nelson claimed to have visited, and a few others – Alaska, Mexico, Germany, China, Hong Kong, Hawaii, Canada, England, Iceland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Holland, Poland, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Israel, Korea, Japan, Argentina, Chili, Uruguay, Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Antarctica, and Australia.  During Dan's life he was able to visit every continent and ocean. He also drove many, many thousands of miles across the United States and Canada on his motorcycle.  Dan will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Dan's memory include his wife of 51 years, Anna Prejean Kite; three children and their spouses, Jeff and Karen Broome, Bobbie and Casey Kite and John and Mandy Kite; four grandchildren and their spouses, Sam and Sara Broome, Makayla Kite and fiancé Andrew Curtis, and Shelby Kite and Griffin Kite; one brother and spouse, Bruce and Judy Kite, one sister, Connie Kite; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Ela Kite.

Condolences and words of comfort may be shared with Dan's family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
