Oakdale-Funeral Service for Daniel Fontenot, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Rev. Dennis LaFleur will officiate. Burial will follow in Ortego Cemetery in Easton, LA under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Daniel was a loving husband to his wife, Mae, for fourteen years. He loved to fish, play cards with friends, and most of all spend time with his grandchildren. Daniel worked on a Tug Boat for Conoco for thirty plus years as Captain. He liked to travel and take vacations. Ms. Mae said, "He deserved every one of his trips". When someone asked him to go on a trip he was always ready. Daniel will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish Daniel's memory include his wife, Dezzie Mae Rodriguez; two sons, Steven Fontenot (Missy) and Mitchell Fontenot (Pam); one daughter, Tammy Soileau (Troy); one brother, Elvin Fontenot; one sister, Sylvia Fontenot; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Adam Fontenot and Armise Deshotel; wife and mother of his children, Anna Fontenot; one son, Danny Fontenot; four sisters, and four brothers.
