Obituary
Kinder- Funeral services for Dana Marie Courville, 49, of Kinder will be Monday, January 24, 2011 at 10 AM in St Philip Neri Catholic Church. Fr Carlos Garcia will officiate. Interment will be in Carter Cemetery of Kinder under direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin Saturday, January 23 from 5-9 pm and from 8 am-9pm Sunday with a Vigil at 6 pm followed by a Rosary. Visitation will resume Monday, January 24 from 8 am until time of services.
Dana entered into rest Friday, January 21, 2011 in Allen Parish Hospital surrounded by loving family and friends after a year long battle with cancer.
She was a lifelong resident of Kinder, where she worked at Western Auto for thirteen years, and then at State Farm Insurance company for ten years where she was an insurance agent. Dana was a member of St Philip Neri Catholic Church, where she was a CYO volunteer and sang in the choir, a girls softball coach for many years, a member of the Kinder Chamber of Commerce, where she served as both President and Vice President. She was also the co-chair person for the Allen Parish Relay for Life Committee. Dana was an amazing mother, grandmother, companion, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She had a contagious smile and treated everyone as a lifelong friend.
She is survived by her companion of 27 years, William Arden Johnson, two daughters, Kandace Elaine Fontenot and husband Brandon, Carley Paige Johnson and her fiancee' Joseph (T-Joe) Chaumont, one grandson Wyatt Shawn Ray Fontenot, three sisters, Becky (Bill) Sonnier, Missy (Bobby) Allemand, Rachal (Brian) Fontenot, two godchildren, Teri Sonnier and Lucas Martin, three stepbrothers, Colton "Butch" Courville, Dennis Courville, and Allen Courville, stepmother Calvelene Courville, neices and nephews Toni Sonnier Markway (Jed), Katelyn Fontenot, Nick Fontenot (Ashlyn) Jimmy Sonnier, Jarret Allemand, Hailey Fontenot and Layni Allemand, great neices Andie Markway, Abby Fontenot and Aubrey Fontenot, all of Kinder
She is preceded in death by her parents Norris and Elaine Courville maternal grandparents Lincoln and Leta Fuselier, and paternal grandparents Frank and Edna Courville.
