Oakdale-Celebration of Life services for Dalton Cloud, 77, will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 1 o'clock p.m. at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale. Revs. Bro. James Vandegriff and Bro. Charles Seal will officiate. Dalton will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Oakdale immediately following his services.

Dalton's family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 5-10 o'clock p.m. Dalton's visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale on Wednesday morning, November 29, 2023, from 9 o'clock a.m. until time of service.

Dalton was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a devoted husband to his wife Caryline Johnson Cloud for 56 years. Dalton loved and adored his family and cherished every moment he spent with them. He was a hard worker and worked "the pipeline" for many years to provide for his family. After "the pipeline" he became the owner of Dalton's Grocery Store in McNary for many years. Dalton never met a stranger and loved to visit with anyone he could. Dalton's favorite saying was "don't panic" as he said in his radio ad for his convenient store. "Don't panic, think about it, but don't do it, and have a great day!" Dalton will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Caryline Johnson Cloud; one son, Jason Cloud; two daughters, Jennifer Cloud Lindsey, and Diranda Cloud; two sisters, Peggy Cloud and Athlee Odom; and one grandson, Adrian Vernon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dalton is preceded in death by his parents, Hadley, and Vertie Cloud; three brothers, R.Z., J.D., and Hadley Cloud Jr; and three sisters, Myrtie McDaniel, and Katherine and Audry Willis.

Pallbearers honored to serve are Robert Johnson, Todd Cloud, Brian Thompson, Randy Willis, Chuck Peters, Ben Johnson, and Clay Boy Strother.
