Kinder-Curtis Ray Scroggins, 74, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022, in Lafayette, Louisiana after a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023, at Kinder McRill Cemetery with Deacon Dale Deshotel officiating. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

Curtis was born on September 12, 1948, in Shreveport, LA to Elva Joseph and Coralie Gidlow Scroggins. He resided throughout his life in New Iberia, LA, Shreveport, LA, Houston, TX, Kinder, LA, and eventually returned to Lafayette. He graduated from Catholic High School in New Iberia, LA in 1967 and worked within the oilfield for most of his life. He was a staunch fan of LSU and the Saints football teams, often calling after the games to celebrate or commiserate about the results!

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, Elva Joseph and Coralie Gidlow Scroggins; brothers, Thomas Orville Scroggins very recently, Robert James "Bobby" Scroggins; and nephews, Thomas Joseph Scroggins and John Phillip Morris.

He is survived by his beloved daughters, Beth Scroggins of Lafayette, LA, Becky Scroggins of Lafayette, LA, and Breeanna Scroggins of Palmyra, MO; former wife, Carol Polito of Lafayette, LA; sister-in-law, Linda Scroggins of New Orleans; brothers, Elva Joseph "Skipper" Scroggins of Albuquerque, NM, John William "Bill" Scroggins and wife, Kay, of Tyler, TX and Jerome Scroggins and wife, DeDe, of Iowa, LA; sister, Fran Morris and husband, Phillip, of Converse, LA; a host of nieces and nephews, Ginnie Scroggins Young and husband, Jay, of Denver, CO, John Scroggins II and wife, Nicole, of Tyler, TX, Leslie Scroggins Markle and husband, Bobby, of Tyler, TX; Curtis' godson, Michael Morris of Converse, LA, Joshua Scroggins of Ravenden Springs, AR, Crystal Broussard and husband, Daniel, of New Orleans, LA and Tony Scroggins of Iowa, LA.
