Obituary

Kinder-Funeral mass for Mr. Curtis Fontenot, 73, of Elton, will be a 10 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2006 in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Father Michael Barras will officiate. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery in Oberlin under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.

Visitation will be in Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. rosary, and Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Fontenot was a resident of Oberlin and Elton, member of Knight of Columbus and served in the U.S Navy during the Korean conflict. He passed away Wednesday at 1:55 a.m. in his resident.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Durio Fontenot of Elton; son, Curtis Harlan Fontenot of Lafayette; daughters, Frances West of Oberlin, Jane Fontenot of Lafayette; stepsons, Russell Durio of Lake Charles, Richard Durio of Elton; stepdaughter, Pam Jones of Elton; brother, Paul Burgess Fontenot of Sulphur; sisters, Lola Manuel of Kinder, Elaine LaPointe of Westlake; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his 1st wife, Fannie Mae Fontenot, parents, Valery and Eva Guillory Fontenot.
