Obituary

Oberlin-Funeral service for Mr. Clyde Ralph Welch, Jr., 78, will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at 3pm in Reeves Bible Church. Rev. Glenn Ducharme will officiate. Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Reeves Bible Church from
3-10pm and will continue on Monday from 8am until time of service.
Clyde worked for over 36 years with Union Pacific Railroad. He loved fishing and spending time at his Toledo Bend camp. One of his favorite pastimes was building racecars and racing with his son, Sonny. He was a husband, father, and grandfather who loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jo Ann Fontenot Welch of Oberlin; two sons, Clyde Ralph (Sonny) Welch III and wife, Veronica of Reeves and D.C. Lambright III and wife, Kathy of Richmond, TX; four daughters, Melanie Frith and husband, Chancy of Reeves, Fae Harrison and husband, Buddy of Reeves, Susan Rider and husband, Kevin of Oberlin, and Jennifer Young and husband, Bryan of Oberlin; two brothers, David Mahaffey of Sulphur and Fred Welch of Shreveport; five sisters, Glenda Welch of Shreveport, Kathy Welch of Shreveport, Carol Wright of Silsbee, TX, Nancy Doyle of Beaumont, TX, and Nelda Fromenthal of Woodville, TX; eighteen grandchildren; and, four great grandchildren.
Clyde is preceded in death by four brothers, Terry, Jimmy, Steve, and Darmon and two sisters, Linda and Alberta.
