Kinder- Funeral service for Mr. Clyde Paul Savant, 81, will be Friday, April 10, 2009 at 3 PM in Indian Village Pentecostal Church. Rev. Terry Bushnell and Rev. A.A. Haymon, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Green Oak Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will begin in the church Thursday from 2 to 9 PM and will continue Friday from 8 AM till time of service.
Mr. Savant was a lifelong resident of Kinder. He died on Wednesday in Lake Charles. He was a member of the Indian Village Pentecostal Church and belonged to the local Ironworkers Union 678. Clyde loved squirrel hunting and gardening. He furnished his family and friends with his homemade red pepper and filet. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Savant, of Kinder; three daughters, Connie Snider and husband Jerry, of Moss Bluff, Suzanne Lavender and husband Larry of Raytown, Missouri, and Carla Fontenot and husband Dane, both of Kinder; three sisters, Ethel Batchlor of Kinder, Ellen Blanchette of Lake Charles, and Jeanette Lejeune and husband D.J. of Welch; nine grandchildren, Jerry, Lesa, Julie, Michelle, Travis, Derek, Randi, Trent, and Alanea; and five great grandchildren, Morgan, Haley, Zachary, Allie, and Sophia.
