Clifford was a lifelong resident of Allen Parish.  He was a proud member of the Bobcat Clan of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana.  Clifford was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend to many.  He was always willing to give of his time and service to anyone in need.  In his younger years, Clifford worked as a cook as well as a deck hand in the maritime industry.  He eventually worked his way up to tugboat Captain, retiring after 30 years of service.  Over the years, he owned various businesses including the Kinder Oil Clinic which he ran for several years.   Clifford currently owns Thunder Foot Distributors, a successful company that he began in 1996.  Clifford was very active in various Coushatta tribal heritage activities.  He proudly took part in tribal sponsored trips, perfected his cane basket weaving techniques, and took accordion lessons, as well. Clifford was a leader in the Louisiana Coushatta Language Association being a strategic part in the development and recording of the Coushatta language.  In his younger years, Clifford enjoyed the outdoors, especially catching turtles.  His most enjoyable times were spent cooking and eating with family and friends.  He also had a passion for restoring classic cars.  Over the years, he enjoyed attending car shows with family and friends and taking part in shows throughout the south.  He was very proud of the variety of awards he won for his show cars at several of the events.  Clifford was a humorous, "one of a kind" man who will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Clifford's memory include his wife, Belinda Vincent of LeBlanc; one son, Cameron Brent (Tricia) Poncho of Elton; honorary son, Justin (Lana) Manuel of LeBlanc; two daughters, Kathy Anne Poncho of Elton and Xena Elizabeth-Jane (Bryan) Fontenot of Thibodaux; two sisters, Shirley Doucet of Jennings and Brenda Hill of Orange, TX; one sister-in-law, Beverly Poncho of Kinder; 10 grandchildren;10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
