Elton-Cleveland (Dob) Poncho, 56, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012
at St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles. Funeral service will be held at Ardoin
Funeral Home of Elton on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 10am. Rev. John Cernek
will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery under the direction of
Ardoin Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton on
Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 5-9pm. Visitation will continue Monday, April
16, 2012 at 8am until time of service.
Dob was a licensed counselor at the Job Corp Center in Cherokee, North
Carolina. He was very interested in learning and received his Masters Degree
in Social Service. He enjoyed making Indian jewelry, arts and crafts, wood carvings
and also loved cooking for his visitors.
Survivors include his son, Nicholas Poncho; brother, Clifford Poncho
of LeBlanc; three sisters, Brenda Hill of Orange, TX., Shirley Doucet and husband,
Richard of Jennings, Pauline John of Elton; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Poncho and Norma J. Williams, both of Kinder; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dob is preceded in death by his parents, Dempsey and Jane Poncho; his
brothers, Horace Williams and Ray Poncho; and two sisters, Neva Manuel and Yvonne
Slappey.
