Obituary

Kinder-Mass of Christian Burial honoring Cledius “Tanny” Ann Lafleur, 77, will be held at 2 o’clock p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, June 30, 2026, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Alan Trouille will officiate. Tanny will be laid to rest at Kinder McRill Cemetery in Kinder, LA immediately following her services.

Tanny’s family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, from 9 o’clock a.m. until time of service with a recitation of the holy rosary at 11 o’clock a.m. All of Tanny’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

Tanny LaFleur was born and raised in Kinder, Louisiana, the daughter of two loving parents who were active public servants in the community. She grew up alongside her siblings, sharing the kind of close-knit upbringing that small-town Louisiana families know so well. Her father served as Mayor of Kinder for 30 years, and Tanny carried that example with her in the way she showed up for the people around her.

She went on to study interior design at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, which anyone who knew her wouldn't be surprised by. She had an eye for beauty and design, and it showed in everything she touched. Tidy and clean — that was Tanny through and through. Her appearance and presentation were always a priority.

She was introduced to her husband at one of Kinder's most infamous hangout spots. Her and her husband built their life together right outside of Kinder, establishing Randall A. LaFleur State Farm Agency. She loved her job. But really, what she loved was the people. Tanny had a gift for making anyone feel seen. She'd strike up a conversation anywhere — the grocery store, the parking lot, didn't matter — and leave people feeling a little better than before.

She was the kind of woman who always put herself last. Not because she had to, but because that's just who she was.

Her daughters and grandchildren were her greatest joy. She was one of a kind, and everyone who got the chance to meet her is truly fortunate. She will never be forgotten because of the kind, generous spirit she shared with everyone she encountered.

Those left to cherish Tanny’s memory include three daughters, Amanda and Rushian Bordelon of Carencro, LA, Candice LaFleur and Nick Vidrine of Kinder, LA, and Lauren LaFleur of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Susanne Powers of Kinder, LA and Shelia Jacobs and husband Matt Jacobs; four grandchildren, Cameron Vidrine, Cara Vidrine, Bella Bordelon, and Savannah Debarge; and a host of nieces, nephews extended family members and friends.

Tanny is preceded in death by her parents, Cledius and Bertha LaFargue; her husband, Randall Alphonse LaFleur; two brothers, Theophile LaFargue and Ricky LaFargue; and three sisters, Sharon Gale Fontenot, Rose Mary LaFargue, and Yvonne Fruge.

Condolences and expressions of sympathy may be shared with Tanny’s family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com or on Facebook-Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.
