Elton- Clarissa "Chris" T. Kennedy, 87, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. The family will host a private burial at a later date in China Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home.

Chris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and a friend to all. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Kenneth, for fifty one years until his passing in October 2007. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of the Elton United Methodist Church. She loved her pastor, Laura Nusbaum and enjoyed going to church. Chris enjoyed spending time with her family and was very proud to be a Den mother to her son and other Boy-scouts of America. She also enjoyed sewing and making dolls. Chris loved flowers; especially roses and poinsettias. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her; especially her caregivers, daughter-in-law, Connie, granddaughters, Nicole and Emily and grandson, Aaron Floyd Guillory.

Those left to cherish Chris' memory include her daughter-in-law, Connie Kennedy; three sisters-in-law, Joan Kennedy, Ruth Schendel and Anne Schendel; one special niece, Karen Carlen; three special nephews, Gary Schendel, Billy Joe Schendel and Jim Schendel; two grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as, a host of nieces and nephews.

Chris is preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Helen Schendel; husband, Kenneth R. Kennedy; one son, Keith L. Kennedy; four brothers, Lester E. Schendel, R.F. "Bud" Schendel, Howard B. Schendel, and Duane W. Schendel; and one great grandson, Payton Beaux Guillory.
