Elton- Funeral service for Clarice John Chevallier, 43, will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 10:00AM in Indian Bible Church of Elton. Rev. John Cerneck will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Peters Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton Tuesday from 11am-11pm with a singing service at 7pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday in Indian Bible Church at 8am until time of service.
Clarice was a resident of Elton. She enjoyed being with her family & friends and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former teacher at Elton High School and Elton Elementary School who enjoyed working with the kids. Clarice passed away Sunday, August 15, 2010.
She is survived by her son, Curtis L. Chevallier & wife Kelli of Lake Charles; one daughter, Jennifer L. Chevallier of Elton; two grandchildren, Gavyn H. Chevallier and Mylee J. Chevallier of Lake Charles; mother, Pauline John of Elton; Fiance`, Joseph L. Vidrine of Elton; five brothers, Arnold J. John, Phillip John, Calvin Sylestine, Nathan Sylestine all of Elton, & Burley Sylestine of Basile; three sisters, Sylvia K. Young, Tanya G. John, & Theresa John all of Elton. Clarice is preceded in death by her father, Woodrow John; two brothers, Donny W. Sylestine & Nolan M. Sylestine; paternal grandparents, Edmound & Flora Robinson John; maternal grandparents, Dempsey & Jane Poncho.
Pallbearers will be Brian Battise, George Pratt Doucet, Cameron Poncho, Derek Poncho, Lionel Lejeune, & Andrew Young.
