He was born on August 27, 1947, in Oakdale, Louisiana to Clarence Edward Chamberlain and Pearly Mae Chamberlain. C.J. served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. C.J. enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing. He loved building and remodeling projects, and worked on projects even until the last. He had a passion for helping people even if it meant giving the last dollar in his pocket. He had a big sense of humor and a heart of gold. He got great joy out of sending his wife on shopping trips or slipping his daughter or daughter in laws a $100 and say go shopping.
He married his sweetheart, Marvel Jones, in Oakdale, LA on October 15, 1965. He went to serve his country in 1966 in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he moved to Texas and started a family. He worked at a lumber supply house which later launched him into a successful construction business. After semi-retiring, he followed his passion to serve people and started Grace Apostolic Tabernacle in Glenn Heights, TX. He continued to follow his passion until his health began declining.
C.J. is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marvel Chamberlain; his only daughter or like he would like to say "My Girl", Trelawny Rule (Kevin) of Kerrville, TX; two sons, Trenton Chamberlain (Stephanie) of Nederland, TX and Duston Chamberlain (Tiffany) of Lumberton, TX; 9 grandchildren, Kyle and Kolton Rule, Jayde Chamberlain, Amber Massey, Autumn Avery, Austin Chamberlain, Kaitlyn, Victoria and Jarod Chamberlain; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Ray Chamberlain; and seven sisters, Jessie Hunt, Ollie Strother, Doris Tillinghast, Pearl Rodriguez, Johnnie James, Donna Fay Odom and Katherine Ann Odom.
