Kinder-Funeral services for Clara Bell Jenkins, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, in the chapel of Ardoin Funeral Home. Deacon Roy Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
The family will receive visitors at Ardoin Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 3-9 p.m. A Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Clara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Kinder. Clara was a woman of strong faith and a lifelong member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. She loved to read. She also loved the outdoors, camellias, and planting flowers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish Clara's memory include her two sons, Michael Chambliss of Richmond, VA, and Paul Jenkins and wife, Natalie, of Kinder; two daughters, Susan Fontenot and husband, Fred, of Providence Village, TX, and Laura Jones and husband, Tom, of Magnolia, TX; one brother, Cranford Manuel, of Elton; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Clara is preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Chambliss and Vernon Jenkins; and her parents, Theophile and Agnes Manuel.
