Oberlin- Funeral mass for Mr. Christopher James Taylor, 40, will be held Friday, February 8, 2008 at 10am in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Father Michael Barras and Deacon Dale Deshotel will officiate. Mr. Taylor will be cremated.
Visitation will be in New Beginnings Assembly of God Church in Oberlin Thursday from 2pm-10pm with a scripture service at 6:30pm and a rosary to follow. Visitation will continue Friday at 8a.m until time of service.
Mr. Taylor was a resident of Oberlin and was Director of Research & Development for Art Catering. He was a gifted guitarist, poet, songwriter and vocalist which allowed him to assist in numerous weddings, funerals and faith renewals. Chris was also a talented Cajun cuisine cook. Mr. Taylor passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008 in Houston, TX.
Survivors include his wife Donette Miller Taylor of Oberlin; son, Darrin Janise; mother, Gloria Taylor Villegas & husband Peter of Oberlin; father, Kenneth Taylor of Oberlin; brother, Matthew Taylor of Moss Bluff; sister, Rachel Manuel & husband Steven of Oberlin; cousins, Nicole Miller & husband Scott of Basile, Christina Broussard & husband Wayne of Basile; numerous nieces & nephews.
