IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charlotte Jantz
Scheel
July 25, 1948 – December 26, 2023
Charlotte Jantz Scheel, 75, of Oakdale entered eternal rest on December 26, 2023, at
Oakdale Community Hospital. Charlotte was a loving mother, grandmother, and faithful
believer of the Apostolic Pentecostal faith.
Charlotte was born in DeRidder, Louisiana, and moved to Oakdale, Louisiana, at the
age of three. She loved her family, her friends, and her dogs. She was never happier
than when bragging about her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing and making intricate
creations from plastic canvas.
Charlotte worked for many years for the State of Louisiana. After retiring from the
Department of Children and Family Services, she was a full-time babysitter for her
grandchildren for several years. When they went to school, Charlotte started a second
career with the Allen Parish School Board. She touched many lives while working in the
Oakdale schools until her second retirement in 2020.
Those who will cherish Charlotte's memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Drs.
Adena and Scott LeJeune; grandchildren, Lydia Jantz LeJeune and Levi Paul LeJeune;
sister, Adena Jantz Jones; sister-in-law, Lillie Norris Jantz; nieces and nephews Jennie
Jantz, Jessie Jantz, Dr. Jonathan Jones, Benjamin Jantz Jones, and Rev. Chris Jones and their
spouses; and seven great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Joy Cagle Jantz; brother Paul
"Topper" Jantz; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Jones and Mike Cottongin.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023,
and from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023.
Visitation and service will be held at The Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church, 229 E.
George B. Mowad Hwy. Oakdale, Louisiana. Revs. Jerry Odom and Ronnie Dickens will
officiate. Interment will follow at Hyatt Cemetery, Fields, Louisiana. All of Charlotte's arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Pallbearers honored to serve are Levi LeJeune, Jonathon Brown, Patrick Brown, Ashton
Says, Ronnie Dickens, and Caleb Wisby.
The family wishes to express gratitude to Dr. Charles Vidrine, Allen Oaks Nursing
Home, and Oakdale Community Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care
during Charlotte's final days.
Charlotte was a dog lover who adopted many strays. Those wishing to honor her
memory may send donations to the Dog Shelter of Oakdale at 215 Thom Street,
