Elton-It is with great sadness the family of Mr. Charles Freeman, Sr. announces his passing after a brief illness, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the age of 73. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years, until his illnesses interfered with him attending mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Elton.

The family will receive visitors at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 8 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Mr. Freeman will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, of 51 years; three children, Charles (Darlene) Freeman, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA, Valerie (Scott) Deculus of Kinder, LA, and Erica Freeman of Elton, LA; three grandchildren, Callista (Genard) Holden of Elton, LA, Chelsea Deculus, and Magdeline Freeman; three great grandchildren, Tayla Ceaser, Genesis and Gemmani Holden; three sisters, Celia (Freddie) Williams, Mary Nell Mallet of Elton, LA, and Irene Adams, of Houston, TX; two brothers, Willis Freeman and Rogers Freeman of Lake Charles, LA; as well as a host of family and friends.

Mr. Freeman is preceded in death by his son, George Freeman; parents, Regile and Amelia Freeman, Lorene (late Felix) Cole; two brothers, Peter and John Freeman; granddaughter, Erin Deculus; and brother-in-law, Jesse Mallet.

The family acknowledges with grateful appreciation every act of kindness shared with them during their time of loss of their loved one. May God bestow his blessings on each one of you. We would like to say a special thanks to Golden Age Nursing Home in Welch and Jennings American Legion Hospital.
