Elton- Funeral service for Mr. Charles McGee, 80, will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2 PM in St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton. Father Marshall Boulet will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will be in Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton, and will begin on Monday from 4 PM till 9 PM, with a Rosary at 7 PM, and will continue on Tuesday from 8 AM till time of service.
Mr. McGee passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 after a lengthy battle with Leukemia.
Charles loved to go camping, fish and hunt. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Elton and LOMA (Louisiana Oil Marketeers Association). He was a friend to all who knew him, and will be greatly missed.
He leaves to his cherished memory, his beloved wife of 24 years, Sherian M. McGee; his son, Charles Douglas and wife Cheryl of Orange, CA; five daughters, Elizabeth M. Rion and husband Roger of Beijing, China, Denice M. Hamilton and husband Bobby of Bunkie, Chantel D. Ortego and husband Mark of Elton, Cherie D. Curtice and husband Pete of Indian Village, and Erin Doise and friend Glenn Langley of Elton; sisters, Annette Thibodeaux of Jennings, and Gwandolyn Guillory of Cade, La.; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jane G. McGee; his parents, Iona and Murphy McGee; and two brothers in law, Donald Guillory and Toby Thibodeaux.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Hamilton, Scott Hamilton, Kevin McGee, Michael Rion, Pete Curtice and Frank DeRoisier. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Leukemia Foundation. Words of comfort may be left for the family at www.ardoinfuneralhome.com
