Kinder- Funeral Mass for Mr. Charles W. Landry Sr., 82, will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 2:00pm in St. Philip Neri Catholic Church. Father Carlos Garcia will officiate. Burial will follow in Carter Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.
Visitation will be held Sunday in the funeral home from 11am-10pm with a vigil service at 6:30pm and a rosary will follow. Visitation will continue Monday at 8am until time of service.
Mr. Landry was a resident of Kinder. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a rice farmer, and a retired Truck Driver with Missouri Pacific Trucking. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and horse races. His family that he enjoyed and loved will miss him dearly. Mr. Landry passed away Friday, November 6, 2009.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernadine Augustine Landry of Kinder; one son, Charles W. Landry Jr. & wife Deanne of Moss Bluff; three daughters, Susan Lormand & husband Murray of Kinder, Rebecca Landry of Lake Charles, Mary Ann Scogin of Kinder; one brother, Louis Landry & wife Lorraine of Welsh; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, & 1 great-great grandchild.
Mr. Landry is preceded in death by his parents, William & Alida Landry, great granddaughter, Alexandra Noel Courville; 5 brothers & 2 sisters.
