Kinder-Celebration of Life services honoring Charles Michael “Mike” Cowart, 84, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, January 28, 2026, at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder. Rev. Fr. Alan Trouille will officiate. “Mike” will be laid to rest at McRill Cemetery in Kinder immediately following his services.

“Mike’s” family will receive friends and visitors at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Tuesday evening, January 27, 2026, from 3-9 o’clock p.m. with a prayer vigil beginning at 6 o’clock p.m. “Mike’s” visitation will resume at Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder on Wednesday morning, January 27, 2026, from 8 o’clock a.m. until time of service. All of “Mike’s” arrangements have been entrusted to care of Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Home of Kinder.

One of the best things we leave behind when our time has come to say goodbye is the wonderful memories, we have left our loved ones to cherish and remember us by. Maybe you are one of the students who remembers being driven to school every day on Mr. Cowart’s bus. I know he remembered each of you and all the many little stories that came to be. He often talked about those days. He remembered all your names and was reminded of those rides. Maybe once you had a car of your own you knew he was your dependable mechanic. “Mike” was the expert who could diagnose your vehicle and know the problem just by the sound. Although cars are now changing rapidly, you must have the right machine. “Mike” didn’t need a machine; he did things the old way. Then there are many who knew the profound love he had for building racecars and driving in competitive races. He often came home with a trophy or prize money and was always ready to make repairs and get ready for the next race. These are only a few of the great memories we have to share. Good job “Mike” it was your time to rest. “Mike” will be forever missed and unconditionally loved by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish “Mike’s” memory include his wife, Windola Ann Cowart; two sons, Charles Michael Cowart Jr. and partner Sylvia Carpenter, and Randall Wayne and Rendela Cowart; two daughters, Donna Carol and Jerry Wilson, and Kassandra Kay Austin; two stepsons, Gary Carrier and wife Christine, and Dale Carrier and partner Amy Courville; two stepdaughters, Lisa Grantham and husband Mark, and Rachelle Brown and husband Ritchie; one sister, Patricia Wilkerson; eighteen shared grandchildren, Krista, Dustin, and Mathew Wilson, Hannah and Abragail Castile, Gabrielle and Kennison Cowart, James, Ethan, Luke, and Kaegan Braswell, Mark and Garrick Carrier, Danielle, Anna, Milania, Agatha, Eli, Miranda, and Wayne; eleven great grandchildren, Kallie, Conner, Aubrey, Raelynn, Layken, Kiyah, Mikenna, Colton, Braxton, Kayston, and Kennison Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

“Mike” is preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Leota Cowart; and two sons, Anthony, and Douglas Carrier.
